Raymond Wilson Box, age 87, of Nacogdoches, Texas passed away on Friday, December 24, 2021 in Nacogdoches, Texas. Raymond was born December 28, 1933 in Nacogdoches County to parents Clarence R. Box and Katheryn (Davis) Whitaker.
Raymond attended Nacogdoches High School graduating with the class of 1952. After high school, he joined the United States Army. During which time he served in the Korean War. After his time in the Army Raymond return to Nacogdoches and went to work as an electrician at NIBCO. While working at NIBCO he was awarded many service awards, including perfect attendance numerous times.
In his free time, he loved to work in his garden, and keep his yard in pristine condition. He enjoyed spending time with his dogs, and visiting with friends over a cup of coffee. He was an avid collector of books, coins and music.
Raymond was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother Max Ray Box.
Those left to cherish his memory include niece, Monica Bohlman of Crowley, Texas; great nieces Stephanie Fleming, and Britnee Bohlman of Joshua, Texas; great nephew, Chad Box of Crowley, Texas; 6 great-great nieces; and 1 great-great nephew.
A visitation for Raymond will be held Thursday, December 30, 2021 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Cason Monk-Metcalf Funeral Directors, 5400 North St, Nacogdoches, Texas 75965, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM.
Raymond will be laid to rest in Lone Star Cemetery, Nacogdoches, TX.
