

Robert Cortez Holt, 89, of Nacogdoches passed away, May 13, 2021 in Carthage. He was born on August 5, 1931 to Oran Cortez Holt and Maria Ninfa Hernandez. Robert married Lynda Faye Husband on December 13, 1974. He served his county in the Army during the Korean Conflict and attained the rank of Corporal. He was a member of New Life Christian Fellowship in Nacogdoches.
Robert began working at 13 years old delivering papers on his bicycle. He worked at San Antonio Packing for over 15 years and then worked for the USDA as an inspector for over 40 years. Robert received many awards from the USDA and was proud of his service as a Korean War Veteran.
Robert loved fishing in his pond, outdoors, gardening, camping and to bar-b-que.
He is survived by wife, Lynda Husband Holt of Nacogdoches; daughter, Raina Thompson and husband Aaron Glenn Thompson of Joaquin; son, Robert Oran Holt and wife Misty of San Augustine; grandchildren, Ryan and Aaron Helms, Trista, Rachel, Kaylee and Sean Halek; brother, Pedro Long O’choa and wife Glendee of Riverdale, CA; numerous nieces and nephews including special niece, Paula Casares; special nephews, David Herrera, Christopher and Junior O’choa.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Mary and Lupe O’choa; brothers, Renee, David and Roland O’choa.
Funeral services will be held, 1:00 PM, Sunday, May 16, 2021, Cason Monk-Metcalf Sunset Chapel, Nacogdoches. Burial will follow at Upper Chireno Cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Ryan Helms, Aaron Helms, Aaron Thompson, Dwayne Husband and Robert Holt.
Arrangements are under the direction of Cason Monk-Metcalf Funeral Directors, Nacogdoches, Texas.
