

He was born August 14, 1947, in Nacogdoches and had been a longtime area resident. He was affiliated with the Baptist Church and served in the U.S. Army. Thomas had worked most of his life as a carpenter and truck driver.
Thomas was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing. His favorite activities also included playing bingo, attending car auctions, drinking coffee. He definitely enjoyed good jokes.
His survivors include his wife, Linda Rogers of Nacogdoches; daughter, Lisa May and spouse Pepper May of Nacogdoches; daughter, Nancy Rogers of Nacogdoches; sister, Linda Cortines and husband Steve; grandchildren, Cody Rogers and wife Tasha, David Rogers and wife Jennifer, Alyssa Gonzales and husband Alex, Dakota Rogers and partner Jennifer Ford, Daniel Cox Rogers, Matt Peveto, Jasper Peveot and wife Ashley, and Shelly Reed and husband Mike; and great-grandchildren, Mary-Beth Edwards, Loren Rogers, David DeWayne Rogers Jr., Zoey Rogers, Cloey Rogers, Jayden Beall, Carmen Rogers, Brantlee Peveto, Zoie Reed, Brooklynn Reed, and Micheal Reed; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas “Buck” Rogers; mother, Leree Chandler Rogers; grandson, Jacob Blaine Cox Rogers; and a nephew, Dewayne Cortines.
Funeral services are set for 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 4, 2014, at Cason Monk-Metcalf Sunset Chapel, Nacogdoches, with Bro. Jerry L. Wilson officiating. Interment will follow at Gravel Ridge Cemetery, located off FM 225 near Nacogdoches.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday, March 3, 2014, at Cason Monk-Metcalf.
Pallbearers will be Cody Rogers, Matt Peveto, David Rogers, Jasper Peveto, Alyssa Gonzales, Dakota Rogers, and Daniel (Cox) Rogers. Honorary pallbearers will be Pepper May, Alex Gonzales, and Chris (a friend).
