Memorial services for Mr. Timothy Norrell Taylor, age 67, of Nacogdoches, Texas, will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 8, 2014, at Cason Monk-Metcalf’s Sunset Chapel, located at 5400 North St. in Nacogdoches. A reception will follow, also at Cason Monk-Metcalf.
Tim passed away peacefully on Monday, Nov. 3, 2014, at his home. He was born in 1947, to Robert “Bob” Taylor and Beryl Farmer Taylor in Waco, Texas.
In 1966, Tim completed the Marine Corps training in San Diego, California, and served in the Marine Reserves. Tim then moved to Austin, Texas, where he met the love of his life, his wife of 44 years, Georgia Kay Irving Taylor. He then attended Stephen F. Austin State University where he received a bachelor of science degree in aquatic biology. He was named in Who’s Who and consistently made the Dean’s List. Professionally, Tim spent his life in the wastewater treatment industry, holding every available license.
Outside of his family and very special relationship with his grandson, Tim loved hunting deer, dove, and duck. He was a founding member of Ducks Unlimited of Shelby County and a member of NRA and TSRA. He and a close circle of friends hunted together for the past 40-plus years. Tim also loved collecting Western memorabilia.
In addition to his parents, Tim was preceded in death by his uncle, Shuford Farmer. He is survived by his loving family, including his wife, Georgia; his daughter, Katherine Marie Taylor Daniel and her husband, Justin Daniel, and their son, Taylor Thomas Daniel. Tim is also survived by his sister, Pattie Taylor Herbert, and her children, Taylor Herbert and Austin Herbert; and a cousin, Kathy Farmer Diehl. And by his sister-in-law, Judy Irving Browne, and her daughter, Elizabeth Browne Cornelius; and a niece, Lisa Davis Beaver. All of whom will miss his charm and fun spirit.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to M.D. Anderson Hospital, addressed to The University of Texas, M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, P.O. Box 4486, Houston, TX 77210-4486 with notation as a memorial to Tim Taylor for esophageal cancer or go to https://gifts.mdanderson.org.
