

Anthony “Tony” Spurgeon, 54, of Napoleon Ohio, went home to be with the Lord after a battle with cancer on Monday, August 26, 2013. Born on February 18, 1959 in Napoleon Ohio, to John “Sam” and Sue Spurgeon. After serving in the United States Army, Tony married Dorothey Donley on February 14, 1981. Tony was a mechanic for many Ford dealerships and worked road construction for P.S. I.. He loved working on cars and had his own shop at home where he enjoyed working on his Demolition Derby cars. He was also an avid glass collector and went to many auctions and garage sales to find his treasures.
Tony is survived by his wife of 32 years, Dorothey and two loving daughters, Myrtle (Lee) Emmerich, Mary (John) Shope, his eight grandchildren, and his best friend, Buddy. Also, surviving are his brothers; Thomas (Vicki) Spurgeon, Deshler, Thaddeus (Beth) Spurgeon, Napoleon, Timothy (Nannette) Spurgeon, Napoleon, Todd (Chris) Spurgeon of Fayette. He is preceded in death by his parents: John “Sam” and Sue (Thiesen) Spurgeon.
Visitation will be on Thursday, August 29, 2013 from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Walker Mortuary 333 West Main St. Napoleon. Funeral services will be held Friday, August 30, 2013, 11:00 a.m. at Walker Mortuary, Father Dan Borgelt officiating. Memorial contributions can be made to St. Augustine Catholic Church or a charity of the donor’ s choice.
