

David L. Meyer, 76, passed away peacefully at home after a lengthy courageous battle with cancer on Monday, November 5, 2012 surrounded by his loving family. He was born October 27, 1936 in Montgomery County, Dayton, Ohio. He became the chosen son of the late Karl and Irene (Maag) Meyer. Survived by Marilyn (Riefers) Meyer whom he married on April 25, 1964 at St. John Lutheran Church where he was a devoted member.
He is also survived by two sons, Richard (Nichole) Meyer of Lake Somerset, MI., and Steven (Cherri) Meyer of Bryan, OH., five grandchildren, Cassie, Luke, Dylan, Natalie and Noah, two step-grandsons, Tyler Andres and Logan Andres, both of Bryan, OH.
David served in the Armed Forces for 4 years, both in the U.S. Naval Reserves from 1955-1957 and the U.S. Army, active duty from 1957-1959. After his military service, he continued his trade working in the telephone industry. David had many hobbies including camping, woodworking, hunting, fishing, gardening, and spending time with his family. He also had fond memories of the years he spent volunteering as a driver for the Lutheran home.
Friends will be received from 3:00 to 9:00 PM on Thursday, November 8, 2012 in the Snyder-Wesche Funeral Home, 830 N. Scott St., Napoleon, Ohio, 419-592-3010. Funeral service is Friday November 9th at 11:00 AM at St. John Lutheran Church with visitation starting at 10:00 AM. Pastor Stephen Niermann officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. John Lutheran Church Memorial Fund or the donor’s choice.
