Doris M. Boyd

Born September 6, 1926 in Napoleon, Ohio, the daughter of F. Vernon and Gladys C. (Grant) Shelt. On March 17, 1946, she married Linford Boyd Jr., who preceded her in death on August 2, 2001.

Doris was a devoted housewife and mother. She was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church, Florida, Ohio and an auxiliary member of the VFW Post 8218 of Napoleon.

Surviving is one daughter Denise L. Boyd, Napoleon, Ohio; two grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.

She was preceded in death also by her parents, one son Bruce E. Boyd, two brothers Vernon E. Shelt and Lester C. Shelt, two sisters Charellen (Peg) Betts and Lynette Baden.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in the Walker Mortuary, Napoleon, Ohio, Rev. Robert Azinger, officiating. Interment will be made in Riverview Memory Gardens, rural Defiance County.

Friends may call at the mortuary on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.

The family has suggested that memorial contributions may be made to St. Peter Lutheran Church.
