

Elizabeth (Beth) Clark, age 82, passed away on February 29,2012 at Swan Creek Retirement Village in Toledo, Ohio. She was born on July 23, 1929 to Joseph and Tekla Meidt. She graduated from the University of North Dakota with a bachelor’s degree in Music and received her Master’s degree in vocal music from Minneapolis School of Music. She married lifetime partner Leonard Clark in 1951. They eventually settled in Napoleon, Ohio where they lived from 1968 to 2008. She was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church of Napoleon. Beth’s love for music motivated her to multiple endeavors including church choir director, youth orchestra director, community concert association member, and music teacher. Her particular talents were playing violin and singing. She served as choir director at St. Paul United Methodist Church of Napoleon, Emmanuel Lutheran Church of Napoleon and the First Presbyterian Church of Defiance. Beth’s interests included the Maumee Valley Heritage Corridor and parks beautification.
Beth is survived by her husband of 60 years, Leonard Clark, two brothers, Joseph Meidt of Superior, Wisconsin and Gerhard Meidt (Karen) of Northfield, Minnesota, and seven children, Larry Clark (Margaret ) of Toledo, Linda Clark (Dave) of San Diego, Laura Clark of Napoleon, Lisa Hokky (Steve) of Troy, OH, Lee Clark (Pam) of Dayton, Lowell Clark of Cincinnati, and Lana Patel (Dave) of San Diego. Also surviving are 13 grandchildren.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in St. Paul United Methodist Church. Interment will be made in Glenwood Cemetery.
Friends may call on Friday at Walker Mortuary from 5:00 to 8:00 pm.
The family has suggested that memorial contributions may be made to the St. Paul United Methodist Church or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
