April 26, 1927 – October 1, 2025
Isidoro, affectionately known as Papi, Izzy, or Mr. Bill by his friends and family, gained his wings on October 1, 2025. He was born on April 26, 1927, in Havana, Cuba 🇨🇺.
A skilled body mechanic, Isidoro married the love of his life, Lidia, in 1950. From that union they had three children — Jorge Luis, Humberto de la Caridad, and Carmen Julia. Seeking a better life for his family, Isidoro brought them to the United States, where he continued to work hard and build a life rooted in love and perseverance.
Known as a man of few words, Isidoro’s quiet strength spoke volumes. When he did speak, his words carried wisdom, insight, and a touch of humor. He could hold a thoughtful conversation on almost any topic and enjoyed discussing sports, especially while watching games with his great-grandson, Jermaine.
After retiring, Isidoro dedicated himself to helping his daughter, Carmen, with her daycare and caring for his great-grandchildren. Whether it was school drop-offs, pick-ups, or extracurricular activities, he was always there — devoted, dependable, and full of love. There was nothing he wouldn’t do for his grandchildren and especially his great-grandchildren.
Isidoro was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 74 years, Lidia; his parents; his sons Jorge and Humberto; and his grandson, Ivan Jr.
He leaves to cherish his memory his devoted daughter, Carmen Julia Gonzalez, who cared for him until the Lord called him home, and her husband Benjamin Gonzalez; his grandchildren Keesha Haley (Jermaine Sr.), Armando Hall Sr. (Tykia), Beautiful Haley, Ira Green, and Eunice Rivera-Maysonette; great-grandchildren Carmen, Brianna, Jasmine, Jermaine Jr., Jahqir, Zada, Alexis, Armando Jr., Samaad, Jacob’e, and Symphany; and great-great-grandchildren Jordan, Jenesis, and Zaelyn.
He will also be deeply missed by his dear compadres Felicita and Juan Ortiz, his special goddaughters Lazara Gonzalez and Ana Ortiz (George), and his godson Felix Ortiz.
Isidoro’s life was a testament to love, family, and quiet strength. His legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
