

John Stephen Zelnick, beloved brother, 71, of Tavernier, Florida, passed away in Miami, Florida on January 12, 2026.
Born on March 17, 1954 in Key West, Florida, John Stephen Zelnick was the cherished son of John and Ruth Zelnick . When he was a young boy he enjoyed taking things apart and putting the them back together again. He also enjoyed playing kick ball with the neighborhood children. He enjoyed fishing with the family. He was a very good student in school and made good grades. He will be remembered for his trustworthiness to his family and friends.
As a young adult he moved up to the Tavernier area with his family. He was known as the “Walker” as he walked to and from his shop every day. He enjoyed his second hand shop where he sold many different items.
John Stephen Zelnick is survived by his sisters, Janet Kokenzie and Carol Zelnick. He is also survived by his niece, Vanessa Lang, his nephew John Kokenzie, Jr., his nephew Jason Kokenzie, his great nephews and nieces, William, Christopher, Jasmine, Selina, Gabriel, Elijah, Christian, Moriah, Alyssa, Zachary, Payton and Hudson. He is also survived by two great, great nephews, Rowan and Atlas.
He is also survived by his two loyal and close friends, Jill and Grace.
He was preceded in death by his Father, Mother, and Sister, Beverly Zelnick.
He will forever be in our hearts.
A private memorial service will be held on a later date at Caballero Rivero Palms, Woodlawn in Naranja, Florida.
