John and family.  We had no idea of Mary's passing. Without Will and Barb around  we were unaware. We know she'd been battling the cancer for many years. We always looked forward to joining you all at your Air Force reunions and Mary and myself celebrating the same birthday.  We looked forward to the Christmas letters.  Our deepest condolences to you and your family.

Mrs. Hachey always showed such kindness. I was young when she attended our church in NH but through the years she would send Christmas cards or visit our family when they returned to the area. I am Grateful to have received such kindness from her. Tamara New

I guess I must be on of the oldest friends of John & Mary. I met John in my home town of Campbellton,New Brunswick in 1957. I was best man at their wedding in 1961 and John returned the favour at my wedding in 1965. Matter of fact John was coming to Campbellton for the week-end, when he was persuaded to go to a United Church retreat camp closer to where he was. That is when he met Mary. And you know the rest of the story.
      Ah Mary was a darling girl for sure. Bright, engaging and fun to be with. In the span between 1965 & 2024, we saw them  about *5 times. As a surprise for our 30th anniversary our two sons brought them to our cottage. We had a delightful week. We visited them in Homestead  a few times. But we always kept in touch by e -mail. I’ m sure Mary must have worn out two or more cameras with her bent for taking pictures,
      Having read the many comments about Mary.she always had a positive attitude and an easy going manner. Our friend ship with Mary & John, as no doubt with their many friends, was easily picked up where we left off when we bid our farewells
      Mary prepared a meal of chicken etc. which we have quite often and call it  “Mary’ Chicken”. In her honour. We found Mary. an absolute delight to be with.  As long as we are granted the memory, we lose nothing by heart.
      This time we don’t bid farewell, but goodbye. Mary was a courageous warrior against her illness, who would not give up. In a brief conversation with Mary’s daughter, Nancy, she stated her Mom never complained. Nor did I ever hear Mary complain.
        We are indeed fortunate to have known Mary and the attitude she conveyed.

Aunt Mary has always been one of the sweetest, most thoughtful aunt to me.  My most favorite memories were those when we visited the Hachey Hotel with her and uncle Bob.  She went above and beyond to make me feel so special, and always made our trips the most memorable adventures.  
She has touched so many lives with her warmth, kindness and ability to be cheery and positive on the grayest of days.  She was one of a kind, and will be missed by so many. Hugs to uncle Bob, Michael, Nancy and JK.  We are thinking about you all from up north. xoxo

     Mary was one of a kind friend to me, an all-weather friend, a good listener and she was always positive.  Our friendship spanned a period of 44 years, beginning as neighbors on Homestead Air Force Base.  My son, Charles, Jr. (CJ) and I will always remember his graduation day in June 1993 and her participation.  
     Trust me, the pain you're feeling never goes away, it just gets easier to live with.  Keep your faith and through the "Goodness of God" you will be fine.

Dear John, Nancy and Michael we are so deeply sorry for your loss. As you grieve know that we are remembering you and honoring Mary’s memory.  We pray the love of God enfolds you and comforts you during this journey through your loss.  We know she is there in heaven watching over and caring for all of you as she always has. There are no words that can fully express the sorrow I feel for your loss. I was heartbroken to hear about Mary’s passing. I cannot begin to imagine the pain you are experiencing right now, but please know that my thoughts are with you and your family during this incredibly difficult time.

Mary was truly one of a kind. The light she brought into the world through her kindness, generosity, and selflessness touched so many lives, including mine. She dedicated her life to helping others, always putting their needs above her own, and her ability to see the best in people was something extraordinary. Her spirit of giving will live on in all the lives she touched.

I will forever be grateful for the moments we shared, the laughter, and the warmth she radiated so effortlessly. Her friendship was a gift—one that I will always treasure. I feel blessed to have known her, and I know that her memory will continue to inspire me to live with the same generosity and love that she gave so freely to others.

Words cannot express the sadness I am feeling at this time in the loss of Mary.  I  will miss so many things, among them, those " few minutes" to an "hour" phone conversations just to catch up on the news and family happenings.    Although I have not met a lot of her friends personally,  I feel I know you through her pictures and stories.  Thanks for always being  there for John and Mary.

I am so very sorry for your loss.  Mary was such a sweet lady. She made me feel so welcome in their home. Christmas was so very special and I enjoyed sharing it with them. I could just sit and enjoy looking at all the Christmas things Mary had placed around the house! 😮. I’ve never seen so many Christmas decorations!  I loved it. 
And spending some time with her and John was wonderful.  I wish I’d had more years to have known them.

Mary supplied our father Donald Krause with letters, cookies, and photos from the day that she met him. She always called him Mr. Krause.😊 and she loved her son-in-law John Krause immensely! I believe she was the mother that he inherited when he married Nancy ! She enjoyed his antics and provided him with many opportunities to entertain neighbors and family alike! What a lovely lady.
