
He was born in Durham, ME on June 13, 1910, the son of the late William A. and Elma (Bean) Hastings.
Thomas was a long time Nashua resident. He was employed in sales for Colombia Ribbon & Carbon Manufacturing Co. for many years before his retirement. Tom was very musically talented. He enjoyed playing the organ and singing, often entertaining those around him.
He is predeceased by his first wife, Dorothy (Diggins) Hastings in 1980; his second wife, Jeanne (Dufour) Hastings in 2005; and nine siblings.
Thomas is survived by a son, David Hastings and his wife Leslie of Woburn, MA; a daughter, Debbie Shama of Lombard, IL; a brother, Floyd Hastings of Saco, ME; a sister, Edith Carpenter of Wylie, TX; three grandchildren, Sharif Shama, Kariman Elgohary, and Lisa Rosenman; six great grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday, December 3, 2010 from 10 AM to 12 PM at ZIS-SWEENEY FUNERAL HOME, 26 KINSLEY STREET, NASHUA, NH 03060. A Funeral Service will be celebrated in the funeral home at Noon. Burial will follow at St. Patrick Cemetery in Hudson, NH. Per the family’s request, no flowers please. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Thomas’s name to the Living Fully, Dying Well Program, Carleton Willard Village, 100 Old Billerica Road, Bedford, MA 01730.
