
Al was a graduate of Van Buren High School & Purdue University. Al was a soil scientist & was retired from the Soil Conservation Service. He formed Donaldson Environmental Consulting Co. Al served on the Brown County Plan Commission & Board of Zoning Appeals. He was past president of the Hoosier Chapter of the Soil & Water Conservation Society, a member of the Agronomy Society of America, Boy Scouts Order of the Arrow, & was recipient of a Sagamore of the Wabash. He served in the U. S. Air Force in Va. & France, obtaining the rank of Captain.
Survivors include: wife, Catherine (Smith) Donaldson, Brown County, son, Mark (Jane) Donaldson, Brown County, daughters, Lynn (Philip) Adams, Woodbury, TN., Susie (Chris) Irish, Nashville, 6 grand children, 1 great grand child, & sister, Janet (Phil) Loy, Upland, IN.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 23 at 11:00 A.M. at Bond-Mitchell Funeral Home, Nashville. Military rites will be held. Visitation will be at the funeral home Friday, October 22 from 4:30 P.M. until 8:30 P.M. & on Saturday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service.
