Barbara Elizabeth Dixon Clements died peacefully at home in Boynton Beach, Florida, on May 24, 2024. She was born July 26, 1931, in Richmond, Virginia, the only child of Forrest Redford Dixon and Mary Elizabeth Dillemuth Dixon.
She is survived by her daughters Elizabeth Lackey Bayless (James) of Austin, Texas, and Barbara Lackey Schaeffer (George) of Charlotte, North Carolina; grandsons James Dixon Mormando (Jessica) and George Emerson Schaeffer IV; and two great-grandsons.
She was preceded in death by her husband Evans Moore Clements, Jr. Mrs. Clements was a graduate of Saint Catherine’s School in Richmond, Virginia, and Saint Mary’s College in Raleigh, North Carolina, and attended the University of Kentucky.
She had been a member of Gulf Stream Bath and Tennis Club, Country Club of Florida, The Little Club, and Quail Ridge Country Club.
A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, June 6, at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Nashville, Tennessee.
