Barbara Jane Carter Richardson

Barbara Jane Carter Richardson, age 79, of Nashville, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on May 10, 2026. She was born on November 1, 1946, in Nashville, Tennessee, to the late Richard E. Carter Sr. and Catherine Louise Carter.

Barbara was a woman who found joy in the simple and beautiful things in life. She loved animals, especially cats, and had a passion for planting flowers and gardening. She enjoyed shopping, dressing up, traveling, and spending time with family and friends she loved most. Barbara cherished her family dearly and especially enjoyed special occasions where she could socialize, celebrate, and create lasting memories with family and friends.

She leaves to cherish her memory her loving children, Tommy Richardson (Rhonda), Sandie Holt (Jackie), Christie Richardson, and Michael Richardson (Shannon). She was also blessed with grandchildren Wyatt Richardson, Jaxon Holt, Luke Holt, Parker Holt, Trevor Richardson, Carter Richardson, and Sadie Richardson.

Barbara is also survived by her siblings, LeeAnn Wall (Patrick), Marie Palazzolo, Jeanette Carter, James Carter, and Harriette Hines (Mark).

In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Ronald Richardson; her grandchildren, Gunnar Richardson and Garrett Richardson; and her brother, Richard E. Carter Jr.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the assisted living team at Traditions of Smyrna for the love, compassion, and care shown to Barbara during her time there.

A gathering of family and friends will be held at Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home, 660 Thompson Lane, Nashville, TN 37204 on June 4, 2026 from 12:30pm-2:30pm with a celebration of life to follow.
