Bertha Lee Boner

Bertha Lee Rankhorn Boner, age 93, departed this life on Friday, February 7, 2020 surrounded by those she loved. She was born on Saturday, March 20, 1926 in Palmyra, Montgomery County, Tennessee to the late Calvin & Maggie Tuberville Rankhorn. In Addition to her parents she was preceded in death by four siblings and her husband, Nathan Boner, Jr. in 1947, Bertha began a lifelong career for the General Shoe Company(Present Day Genesco) at its Charlotte Avenue Plant. She held many positions in her 50 years with Genesco, retiring in 1997 as a Fitter. Bertha will be remembered by her family as a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister. She is survived by her son, Terry (Candi) Boner; grandchildren, Shannon Boner, Sloan Underwood, Ashley (Josh) Charland, Brian "Peanut" Rankhorn; great-grandchildren, Elijah Underwood, Ethan Underwood, Mason Charland, Hannah Rankhorn and "Lil" Brian Rankhorn; siblings, Luther Rankhorn, Mattie Woodson and Paul Rankhorn. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at one o'clock in the afternoon on Tuesday, February 11, 2020 in Dignity Hall at Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home with Interment to follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park. There will be a gathering of family and friends on Monday, February 10, 2020 from four until eight o'clock in the evening at Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home.
