Betty Ann Pilkinton

Betty A. McConnell Pilkinton of Nashville, TN passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her family on January 25, 2016. Betty was born on October 17, 1928 and was 87 years old. She is preceded in death by her parents, Claude W. and Georgiana McConnell and two sisters, Eva Lassie Russell and Georgiana T. McConnell. She is survived by her husband of 67 years, J. Shelton Pilkinton, her children, Jim (Connie) Pilkinton, Claudia (John) Enberg; along with six grandchildren, and four great grandchildren. Betty retired from The Christian Church Disciples of Christ, Tennessee Region, where she was an office manager and secretary. She was a member of Vine Street Christian Church for 73 years and served at Vine Street Church as an elder, a deacon, a Sunday school teacher and a Circle Leader. Visitation with family will be from four o’clock until eight o’clock on Thursday, January 28, 2016 at Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. Celebration of Life Service will be on Friday, January 29, 2016 at eleven o’clock in the morning, Vine Street Christian Church, 4101 Harding Road, Nashville, TN 37205 with Rev. Thomas Kleinert and Rev. Greg Rumberg officiating. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Vine Street Christian Church, 4101 Harding Road – Nashville, TN 37205.
