Betty Jo Tucker

She was preceded in death by her husband of 72 years, Charles Tucker, her parents, Charles W Cope and Alice Marie Lunn Cope, a sister, Jeanne Cope Crawford, and a brother Charles E. Cope.

She is survived by three children Gary (Shirley) Tucker of Murfreesboro, TN, Gail (Bill) Griggs of Bell Buckle, TN, and Glenda (Larry) Riley of Lascassas, TN. She was a wonderful grandmother to 9 grandchildren, Julie Tucker Coleman, Jason Tucker, Joel Kelly, Michael Griggs, Philip Griggs, Joe Griggs Will Riley, Emily Riley Reed and Tim Riley. She had 22 grandchildren and one great-great grandson. She also leaves a sister, Helen Thacker.

Betty was born and raised in Nashville, TN. She and her husband met as next door neighbors. They married in 1947 and made their life long home in Nashville. Betty retired from Castner-Knott. She was a Sunday School teacher, a Girl Scout leader, involved in her children's school activities, and a volunteer "Pink Lady" at Baptist Hospital. She was an active member of Vultee Church of Christ for more than 65 years.

Her family will receive friends on Sunday September 15, from 1:00 until 3:00 at Woodlawn Roesch Patton Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held immediately following at 3:00.
