

BEASLEY Bonnie D., age 99, died on Friday July 5, 2013 with her friends and caregivers at Morningside of Franklin. She was a native Nashvillian and was the daughter of the late Floyd E and Zaida Rogers Dunnavant and the widow of William Malcolm Beasley who passed March 31, 1989. She is survived by 2 daughters, Ann DeVan (late husband Grady, ) of Franklin, Tennessee and Betty Grace Hendrix (husband Mike) of Las Vegas, Nevada, 3 grandchildren Kristi Robey (husband Josh) of Gallatin, Tennessee, Bonnie Kroll of Las Vegas, Nevada and John William Kroll of Reno, Nevada. Nieces Rita Gale Dunnavant, Cindy Johnson, and Nancy Check of Lebanon, Tennessee, 2 nephews Floyd E Dunnavant III of Lebanon, Tennessee and Craig Dunnavant of Warrior, Alabama. Her newest joys were her great grandchildren Scarlett and Maddox of Gallatin, Tennessee. Mrs. Beasley attended Nashville public schools and graduated from Hume Fogg High School in 1931. She married Malcolm Beasley on January 13, 1933. She worked as a legal secretary for Home Owner's Loan Corporation until 1940. She was an active member of Calvary United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women. She was awarded a special life membership in 1971. She was also a member of the Red Letter Sunday School Class and of Church Women United. Mrs. Beasley was a former member of Cheekwood Botanical Gardens Fine Arts Center, Service Circle of the International Order of King's Daughters, The New Century Club, Commodore Yacht Club, and Nashville Yacht Club. Through the years she was an active volunteer for the Easter Seal Society, the American Cancer Society, and was a Girl Scout Leader for a troop at Julia Green School. We will celebrate her life and remember how her kindness touched us all at services conducted by Rev. Dr. Peter van Eys and Rev. Libby Baxter on Monday July 8th at 11:30 am at the chapel at Woodlawn Memorial Park at 660 Thompson Lane, Nashville 37204. Visitation with the family will be on Sunday evening July 8th from four to eight p.m. and for an hour before the funeral on Monday, both at Woodlawn. Placement to follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park. Honorary Pallbearers: Red Letter Sunday School Class, Calvary United Methodist Church. Family and friends will serve as active Pallbearers. In lieu of customary floral tributes, memorials may be made to Calvary United Methodist Church or the charity of your choice. Our thanks to the wonderful staff and caregivers at Morningside of Franklin for their kindness and good care of our mom during her almost 3 years there.
