

Carolyn graduated from Antioch High School and went on to receive an associate’s degree from Nashville Business School. She married the late Robert Bailey Lott on July 24, 1948, in Nashville, TN, and together they built a life full of love, family, and faith.
Her career as a secretary began at National Life and Accident Insurance Company and continued later at Centenary Methodist Community Center. Carolyn spent the remaining 19 years of her secretarial career in the Mathematics Department at Vanderbilt University where she retired. She was deeply involved in her community and was a cherished member of several churches over the years, including Hobson Methodist Church, Valley View Baptist Church, Forest Hills Baptist Church, and Parkway Baptist Church.
Carolyn was a woman of many passions. She loved to travel, sew, knit, and entertain friends and family. Her cooking, often shared with loved ones, was a reflection of her warmth and hospitality.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Bailey Lott, and her brother, John Richmond Myrick. Carolyn is survived by her four children: Robert Eric Lott (Jean), Lana Lott Settle (Mike), Kenneth Myrick Lott (Jolene), and Russell Buchi Lott (Melissa); seven grandchildren: Greg Lott, Lori Szathmary (Kevin), Lindy Cunningham (Chad), Mark Settle (Gissele), Matt Lott (Cindy), Lauren Rutschow (Kenny), and Michaela Lott; and ten great-grandchildren: Macey Lott, Gabi Lott, Beren Cunningham, Carlie Jean Szathmary, Fury Cunningham, Declan Szathmary, Anya Settle, Bowie Cunningham, Boaz Settle and Peyton Lott.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, February 20, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Woodlawn Roesch-Patton Funeral Home, 660 Thompson Lane, Nashville, TN. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 PM, with burial to take place immediately after.
Carolyn will be remembered for her kindness, her unwavering faith, and the joy she brought to everyone she met. She leaves behind a legacy of love, family, and cherished memories.
