Born April 14, 1933 in Water Valley, MS; she was a graduate of the University of Mississippi, a member
of Phi Mu Sorority, and taught high school English for three years before becoming a full-time homemaker and mother.
She met the love of her life, Bob as she was working in a department store and loved to tell people that she got him at a sale.
She loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ with all her heart and was extremely devoted to serving at Forest Hills Baptist Church. For over 20 years she faithfully taught 5th and 6th grade Sunday School as well as Vacation Bible School. In later years, Charlene was a devoted member of the Good News Sunday School Class.
Charlene had the gift of encouragement like no other! Always with a smile on her face she would have something kind to say or something to compliment about every person she met.
Her grandchildren were her pride and joy. She believed in each of them, loved each deeply, and was always interested in every aspect of their lives--even when her memory seemed to be failing, she would always ask about each grandchild and their spouses.
Family will receive friends Sunday, April 14 from 1-3pm and Monday, April 15 from 10am-11am at Forest Hills Baptist Church with the Celebration of Life at 11am. Family will meet at Woodlawn Memorial Park on Tuesday, April 16th at 11am for the entombment.
