Daniel Ryan Morehiser

Daniel Morehiser, 34, of New Orleans, LA passed away on June 25, 2021 in Nashville, TN. He was the beloved son of Jeanne and Mervin Morehiser, cherished brother of Emily Franco (Jason), Rebecca Morehiser (Jason) and Bridget Bonnecarrere (Ryan) and loving uncle to Benjamin, Tibbi, Emile, Henry, and Ellie. Daniel attended Brother Martin High School where he was on the cross-country and football teams, and graduated from Louisiana State University with a degree in Construction Management. He had a great appreciation for craftsmanship and enjoyed making things with his hands.

Daniel was a deeply contemplative person who could lose himself in the stroke of a paddle or paintbrush. He was a gentle, kind soul who would always go out of his way to help others. A gifted storyteller, he could make his friends and family howl with laughter. He loved being in the beauty of creation and enjoyed hiking and biking in his new home of Nashville; but his real love was the waterways and marshlands of his home state of Louisiana. He will be missed more than he could ever imagine.

Services will be held at St. Rita Catholic Church in Harahan on Saturday July 10th 2021 with visitation between 10am-12pm and a mass at noon. There will be private internment at a later date. In lieu of flowers, masses or donations to National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) in Daniel’s name are preferred.
