Darlene Rochelle Wade Spence

Mrs. Darlene Rochelle Wade Spence was born August 13, 1960, in Louisville, KY to the late Mr. John Thomas Wade and Joanne Wade Waller. She departed this life on April 29, 2026 at Centennial Medical Center, following a long illness. Darlene was a graduate of North High School. She worked many years at United Methodist Publishing House in Nashville TN until her health forced her to retire. Leaving several cherished friends and co-workers to cherish her memories.

Darlene received Christ as her Lord and Savior and was a member at Eastside Church of Christ and later moved her membership to Lawrence Ave Church of Christ.

Darlene was united in holy matrimony to Calvin Spence for 26 loving years. The love of her life, inseparable until death.

Everyone that knew Darlene loved her with a smile. She was never lost of words. Always willing to share, with a heart of gold. She will be truly missed by friends and family.

She is preceded in death by: father, John Thomas Wade Sr., mother, Joanne Wade Waller, step-father James Richard Waller, sister, Bow (Shirley) Wade, brother-in-law Rufus Phillips.

She is survived by: a devoted husband, Calvin Spence, son, Corey Wade, Nashville TN, step-daughters, Tonya Overton, Nashville TN, Yalonda Cunnington (Jerry), Nashville TN, Tracy Spence, Nashville TN, 2 step-grandchildren and 1 step great-grandchild. One brother John Wade Jr, Clearwater, FL, sisters; Beverly Phillips, Hartsville TN, Jacqueline Griffey (Raynall), Keller TX. A devoted brother-in-law Raynall Griffey, TX. Sisters-in-law; Connella Spence, Nashville, Patricia Keeling, Hendersonville, TN, Savitrea Jones, Murfreesboro, one aunt, Betty Wrigh of Pontiac, MI; three nephews: Rufus Phillips Jr, Hartsville TN, Johnathan Wade Colorado Springs, CO, Nicholas Wade Atlanta, GA, one niece, Kimberly McClellan, Lebanon TN.
