

Dorothy Lee Campbell Harston, age 88, of Nashville, Tennessee, passed away from this earth to be with Jesus on April 20, 2020. Dot passed peacefully at home after a valiant battle with cancer. She was preceded in death by her parents Walter and Marye Campbell, her sister Betsy Curry Warren, her husband Robert (Bobby) Harston, and her daughter-in-law Debi Harston. She is survived by sons Tommy Harston and Buddy (Julie) Harston who loved her dearly. She was a devoted and loving "GrandDot" to her 3 grandchildren, Palmer (Joseph) Williams, Taylor (Seth) Wiedemann, and Aphiwe Harston. Her 5 young great-grandchildren, Walt and Cora Wiedemann and Jack, Henry and Teddy Williams, brought laughter and smiles to her face.
Dot was born in August 3,1931 in Birmingham, Alabama but spent most of her life in Nashville, having graduated from West High School. She met and married Bobby on November 27, 1949 and they spent 68 years together. She worked over 30 years at United Methodist Publishing House. After retiring, Dot loved hosting family meals, caring for her Jack Russell terriers, and travelling with Bobby and the grandchildren. Her passion was gardening and she was a member of the Garden Club of Nashville. Dot and Bobby attended Glencliff United Methodist Church, and made their home in the Woodbine Community where they had many neighbors and friends.
Dorothy Harston will be greatly missed but long remembered. “Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal.”
