A graduate of Central High School, DJ went on to build a long and fulfilling career as a jack-of-all-trades with Midtown Printing, where his skill and work ethic made him a valued member of the team until his retirement. Outside of work, DJ was a man of many passions. He found joy in music and was gifted in woodworking—talents that brought creativity and warmth to those around him. On December 6, 1997, DJ married, Cindy Johnson, in Nashville.
DJ was preceded in death by his parents, William and Bertie Johnson; his daughter, Lorrie Johnson Kelley; and his sister-in-law, Donna Johnson.
He is survived by his loving wife, Cindy Johnson; his son, John Johnson (Michelle); two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; his siblings, David Johnson and Mary Fentress (Mike); as well as two nieces and four nephews. His memory will live on through the family who loved him deeply and the many lives he touched.
