Faye Degges

Faye was born on January 30, 1931, in a log cabin in the Possum Valley Community of Drew County, Arkansas, the daughter of Roy and Pauline Mayo. A graduate of Kings Daughters Nursing School, she dedicated her career as a registered nurse before devoting herself fully to her family and home. She was a member of Glenwood Baptist Church and will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Faye found joy in simple but meaningful things—gardening, sewing, and reading—and her warmth, faith, and devotion touched all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ira Donald Degges, her sister Reva Mayo White and her brother Curt Mayo. She is survived by her children James Degges, Paul (Saundra) Degges, Karen Degges, and Bruce Degges; grandchildren Adam (Megan) Mayberry, Cassity Degges, and Brendan Sena-Degges; and great-grandchildren A.J. Mayberry and Annabelle Mayberry.

A gathering of family and friends for Vonnie will be held Sunday, October 5, 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home & Memorial Park, 660 Thompson Ln, Nashville, TN 37204. A celebration of life will occur Sunday, October 5, 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, 660 Thompson Ln, Nashville, TN 37204. A committal and interment will occur Sunday, October 5, 2025 from 3:00 PM to 3:30 PM, 660 Thompson Ln, Nashville, TN 37204.
