

Born in Marietta, GA and raised in Palatka, FL, George's journey through life was marked by exceptional academic achievements and profound contributions to his fields in medicine.
He graduated from Palatka High School before earning a BA degree in Chemistry from David Lipscomb College, Nashville, TN. George pursued further studies at Washington University in St. Louis where he obtained both an MD and a PhD in Biochemistry. George completed his internship in Internal Medicine at the University of Florida, Gainesville followed by a residency in dermatology at the esteemed Washington University/Barnes -Jewish Hospital/St. Louis Children's Hospital Consortium in St. Louis,
MO. Dr. Stricklin was a Board Certified Dermatologist and a member of the AAD and ADA among other professional organizations.
Upon retirement in 2015, Dr. Stricklin was a Professor of Medicine at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine and Chief of the Division of Dermatology. He was affiliated with the Veteran's Administration Tennessee Valley Healthcare System as Section Chief of Dermatology.
George is survived by his wife, Deborah Daniel Stricklin, his sons, James Daniel Stricklin and George Andrew Stricklin, daughter in law, Joanne Yang Stricklin and grandchildren, Miles Zhenyu Stricklin and Nora Wanjing Stricklin, all residing in Nashville. He is also survived by his sister, Nancy Lehde of Colorado Springs, CO, and his brothers, David Stricklin of Micanopy, FL and John Stricklin of Cherokee, NC.
George and Deborah's charitable endeavors included support for the Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to Second Harvest or the charity of your choice in honor of George's memory.
