But I do not want you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning those who have fallen asleep, lest you sorrow as others who have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him those who sleep in Jesus. For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord will by no means precede those who are asleep. 16 For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord. Grace Evelyn Masson, age 91, born on June 10, 1929 to Verna and Karl Garner passed away on July 10, 2020 in Nashville, Tennessee. Grace is also preceded in death by her brothers, Wayne Garner, Frank Garner, Bryce Garner, and William Garner; sisters, Fay Bogart and Helene Bartlett.

Grace is survived by children, John Masson (Debbie), Daniel Masson, and Amy Robinett; grandchildren, Brian Masson, Seth Masson, Nathan Williams, and Abby Williams; and sister, Lois Leonard.

After graduating from St. Mary’s Public School, Grace worked in the library at Overlin College. She worked in retail at Belk Lindsey. Grace loved painting, sewing, and exercising. She was deeply devoted to her church, The Living Church of God. Above all else, Grace was a devoted mother and grandmother. She deeply loved and cared for her family.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Sunday, July 19, 2020 at three o’clock in the afternoon in Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton’s Dignity Hall with Pastor Tex Malone officiating. A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held one hour prior to the service.
