Harold Dennis Thompson

THOMPSON, Harold Dennis, age 85, passed away on June 20, 2012. Preceded in death by his wife, Martha Hart; parents, Allie B. and Grady Thompson; brother, Horace Thompson. He graduated from Bellevue High School where he was captain of the football team his senior year. He entered the U.S. Air Force in WWII and served overseas for two years. At the end of WWII, he came home and was employed by H.G. Hill Stores. He later became executive V.P. of H. G. Hill Stores. He retired in 1999. He was a member of West Nashville Cumberland Presbyterian Church. He is survived by his daughter, Sandra McDonald (Mike); sons Denny and Brett Thompson. He had ten grandchildren, John McDonald (Eleanor), Lisa Cheney (Craig), Edie McDonald, Corey Ilesco (Ron), Katherine and Anna Thompson, Matt, Connor, Jacque and Amy Thompson; great grandchildren Drew McDonald, Kate McDonald, Holden Cheney and Wells Ilesco. Visitation will be held from five until eight o’clock in the evening on Thursday, the 21st of June, 2012. Graveside Services will be held at ten o’clock in the morning on Friday, the 22nd of June, at Woodlawn Memorial Park with visitation held one hour prior at the funeral home. Pallbearers are John McDonald, William Fields, Matt Thompson, Connor Thompson, Craig Cheney and Ron Ilesco.
