

Mary Helen (Drake) Dodd, age 86, of Nashville, Tennessee, passed away on July 3, 2025. Born on June 24, 1939, in Nashville, Helen was the beloved daughter of the late Guy H. Drake and Lillian (Erwin) Drake. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Robert Drake.
A graduate of Hillsboro High School in Nashville, Helen dedicated over 40 years to a meaningful and impactful career as a recruiter. She took great pride in mentoring others, launching careers, and guiding hundreds of individuals across numerous industries. Her work was more than a job—it was a calling that she embraced with joy and dedication.
Helen was a devoted mother and grandmother, always attentive, supportive, and full of hope for the lives of those she loved. Her nurturing spirit extended beyond her family, as she also devoted time to serving in the Big Sister organization, helping young girls prepare for life's journey. A woman of deep faith, she was a proud former member of a Ladies Sunday School class at Brentwood Baptist Church and professed Jesus Christ as her personal Savior.
Helen found great joy in nature and was passionate about growing plants and flowers. She was also a lifelong animal lover and cared for many cherished cats and dogs over the years.
Helen is survived by her sons, Kerry Dodd (Martha) and Bruce Dodd; her granddaughter, Jenna Dodd Weber (Brody); and many friends and extended family who will miss her dearly.
A memorial service celebrating Helen's life will be held on Wednesday, July 16, 2025, at Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home & Memorial Park, 660 Thompson Ln., Nashville, TN 37204. Visitation will take place from 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM, followed by a service at 2:30 PM.
