Hugh McPheeters III, 57, of Jacksonville, Florida, passed away surrounded by the love of family and friends. Born on December 4, 1968, in Saint Louis, Missouri, Hugh was the beloved son of Hugh McPheeters Jr. and Charlotte Barbarin McPheeters.
Hugh was known most for his warmth, loyalty, and deep appreciation for the people in his life. Whether spending time with a lifelong friend or meeting someone for the first time, Hugh’s greatest joy came from meaningful conversation, laughter, and companionship. He had a gift for making others feel welcome and valued, and his presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Charlotte Barbarin McPheeters.
Hugh is survived by his father; his sister and brother; four nieces; one nephew; and many extended family members and friends who will cherish his memory always.
A memorial service celebrating Hugh’s life will be held on Saturday, May 23, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at San Marco Presbyterian Church.
