

Jerry Raymond Allen, 83, of Nashville, TN, passed away peacefully on March 31, 2025. Born in Nashville on January 19, 1942, to Elizabeth Winnie Myers and Herman Donald Allen, Jerry lived a life full of hard work, love, and dedication to his family, community, and friends.
Jerry was a devoted husband to Nancy Gayle Allen (who preceded him in death), a loving father to Laura Allen Carrillo and Robert Patrick Allen, and a cherished grandfather to Andromeda Steinburg, Lauren Freeman, Michaela Villacorta, and Eric Early. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family, and a wide circle of friends.
Jerry dedicated 40 years of his life working as a machinist at the Ford Glass Plant in Nashville, retiring in 1999. He was known for his tireless work ethic and his pride in providing for his family. Throughout his life, Jerry was a man of integrity, kindness, and southern charm. He was a gentleman at all times, always greeting everyone with a hearty "howdy," a warm smile, and a firm handshake.
A man of deep faith, Jerry was heavily involved in his church and dedicated to his community. He could often be found lending a hand to neighbors and friends and was known for his lifelong commitment to blood donation. His sense of humor and his generosity of spirit touched everyone he met. Jerry's joy for life and his strong sense of love for those around him will leave an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing him.
In his free time, Jerry was passionate about a variety of hobbies. He loved working in his shop, "The Dog House," where he tinkered with anything that caught his interest. He had a particular fondness for both modern and vintage farm tractors, trains of all kinds, go-kart racing, fishing, hunting, and target shooting. Jerry's love for NASCAR racing was another passion that brought him joy throughout his life.
Jerry was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Nancy Gayle Allen, his brother, Dan Allen, and his sister, Dorothy Emhoff. He leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and community service, and his memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends forever.
