She was preceded in death by her parents, John Fred Lee and Lillie Dickerson Lee, and her husband, Leonard Nathan Williams, Jr.
Joan is survived by her loving children, Sam (Teresa) Williams, Jenny (David) Lockmiller and Amanda (Brad) McMahan; and grandson, Nathan Williams. She is also lovingly remembered by Ron and Judy Sharpe and Family, The Congregation of Hickory Bend United Methodist Church, her fellow Volunteers at Buchanan Log House, and the Baptist School of Nursing Graduating Class of 1957.

A Celebration of Life honoring Joan will be held at 2:00 pm December 15th at Buchanan Log House. 2910 Elm Hill Pike, Nashville, TN 37204. A brief service will begin at 2:00 pm with reception to follow. Valet parking will be provided.
