Joanne Marie Walker

3 September, 196110 February, 2020

Joanne Marie Walker Born Sept. 3rd, 1961 in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Died Feb. 10th, 2020 in Nashville, TN. Preceded in death by grandparents Oscar Blaine Walker and Birdie Rue Walker of Sevierville, TN., and Joseph Patrick Buggy and Ester Buggy of Shamokin, PA. Survived by her parents, Sam and Louise Walker, brother, Blaine(Beth) Walker, her niece Madison Walker and her nephew Joseph Walker. She leaves behind her beloved beagle Max, and her cats Sissy and Sheba.

Joanne, who lived in Knoxville most of her life, was a devoted family member, friend and animal advocate. She had a passion for life, with an unwavering fondness for the beach. Always a doting aunt, a caring daughter and sister. She carried an immense joy for country music, but most of all, her loyalty to animals truly captured her capacity of unconditional love- always going out of her way to give a foster animal a home as well as bestowing love to all of her "fur-babies", so blessed to be in her care. A soul taken too soon she will be fervently missed by all who knew her, loved her, and were blessed to cross her path. Funeral Mass is Friday, Feb. 28th at the Cathedral of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, in Knoxville, TN. A private burial to follow.

In lieu of flowers please make a donation in Joanne's memory to: Proverbs 12:10 Animal Rescue P.O. Box 210830 Nashville, TN 37221

I am so sorry for your and our loss of Joanne. I was fortunate to work with JoAnne while she was a factory representative for us at Delfield. JoAnne was a true professional in every sense of the word and also became a dear friend. She always had a pretty smile for us when we met or a friendly voice during calls.

As time goes by and we drift apart while following our separate paths, we only wish for one last conversation. My admiration will remain forever. Rest in peace my dear friend.

So sorry I will not be able to attend. I just wanted to extend prayers for peace, understanding and spiritual healing to friends and family. Joanne was a long time co-worker, friend, customer and mutual lymphoma warrior. May she rest in peace and eternally pain free.

Peace be with you.

I knew Joann Walker from our Facebook support group as we have the same rare Disease. She was always upbeat, very caring and supportive. She always offered her support whenever someone asked. She was a woman of faith and loved her animals. Although I never met her in person, I know I would have enjoyed her company.

What a sweet lady she was. I miss the times we would go shopping together and talk about beach vacations and her sweet furbabies. She was fun and always running late, like me. Rest in heaven sweet girl.

One of the first folks I worked with and met at MNPS. She was a good friend and always a pleasant partner to work with for our schools. Prayers to the family! She will be missed!

I got to know Joanne in the mycosis fungoides group. We shared the challenges of this disease and offered each other support. I'm relieved she is no longer in pain but is now whole in the glory of God. God Bless her and your family

I moved to Knoxville in 08’ and meet Joanne when we worked together at Pelos restaurant.
I remember her as being shy but not shy. I remember her smiling all the time around us. I remember her talking about music and the beach. I remember her selling her house and moving to the beach where I know she continued to smile everyday!
She will be missed and is loved by so my people. She will truly be missed.

Words can not express the loss that I feel. Gone too soon, but so grateful that you now have a new body and are skipping down the beach. I miss you! I love you more than you will ever know. Thanks for always being there for me. Until we meet again.....😘
