behind his mother, Evalina Cheadle, brother, Larry W. (Catherine) Mitchell, and nephew, Harlan
Mitchell, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and countless friends.
John was born in Nashville. He graduated from Montgomery Bell Academy where John was the
football captain his senior year and earned academic all-state honors. He also had a record-setting
high school lacrosse career playing with his brother for Hume Fogg’s team, averaging 6
goals per game his senior year.
John went on to graduate from Florida Southern College where he was an active member of the Lambda Chi fraternity. At the time of his passing, he was a student at Nashville School of Law.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. George’s Episcopal Church or Montgomery Bell
Academy.
