John T. is a special person of mine and an excellent preacher that could get to the point in a plain and simple way that all could understand.  He was our minister in Manassas, Va.  He had a wonderful sense of humor and could write personal poems about people that fit them perfectly.  He loved his Corvette which was not much to look at then but later got it going and he was so proud of it. He loved God and the church with all his heart and it showed in all he did. I was so shocked to hear of his passing since I thought he would be running forever. Ann, Lisa & Amy and their families are in my prayers for their loss is great.   He is at home at last.

Dear Ann, Lisa, Amy, and family, I am so saddened to read of John's passing. He truly had a kind, servant heart. I loved the gift of knowledge and discernment of the scripture God gave him to present the gospel in plain, relevant, and, oftentimes, humorous language. He truly cared if you were hurting or in need. My mother, Betty Duncan, sends her condolences to you all. I will pray for you in the days ahead as you navigate and process your grief. May God grant you healing, comfort, and peace as only He can. Love to you all.

John was always one of the truly nice people and a heck of a runner! He always inspired me.

John T was always kind to me and I felt that he was an example of a Godly man.  Always smiling, always generous!  I was honored to have him give me a copy of his book.  He'll be sorely missed.  My heartfelt condolences to his sweet wife.  Jim

John T baptized me at the Manassas Church of Christ, Manassas, VA in the mid-70s.  I have fond memories of my friend and fellow servant in Jesus Christ.  I always appreciated his sense of humor.  I will look forward to meeting him in that beautiful place called HEAVEN.  Blessings to Ann and family.

John T was a tremendous influence in my early life when he arrived in Starkville.  He baptized me and I enjoyed many long conversations with him about Bible questions.  He was one of the funniest I have known.  He is one whose humor was really good, but never at the expense of someone else.  He truly loved God's people as well as having a heart for those who weren't God's people yet.  Ann, Lisa and Amy - you and your family are in our prayers.

John T. and Ann were my neighbors on Alabama Avenue in Chattanooga for many years. They were always the kindest and sweetest neighbors. John T. will surely be missed by the many people who knew him.  I am saddened at this loss and offer my sincere condolences to Ann and the family. 

John T was loved by many of us in the Lipscomb family and I reconnected with him at the Friday night singings a few years back.  We will all miss him. Sympathy to Ann and the family.

RIP John T. It's been an honor being your brother-in-law since you married my sister Ann.  You are missed but fondly remembered as a good man, husband, friend, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Your legacy is with those who were influenced by your example and deeds throughout your life!  Hug my beloved wife Shirley and my Mother for me in Heaven. 

John T. was a special, kind hearted, Christian servant.  He was always an encourager and will be greatly missed in the Chattanooga area.
