Jose "Joel" Noel Vilar Escueta, age 56, of Nashville, Tennessee passed away on Tuesday, July 26, 2022. Jose Noel was born August 30, 1965 in the Philippines. He is preceded in death by his mother, Angela Vilar Escueta.
Joel is survived by the love of his life, his wife, Rachel Escueta of Nashville Tennessee; father, Amadeo Escueta of Tallahassee, Florida; sister, Theresa Estrera of Tallahassee, Florida and brother, Arthur Escueta of Nashville, Tennessee.
Joel attended Middle Tennessee State University and in 1991 graduated with his Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. Joel enlisted in the Army Reserve in 1991 and completed Basic Combat Training in the field of Chemical Detachment.
He was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity while in college.
After graduation he gained years of sales and marketing experience and was employed by Parisians, Physician Sales & Services, and Frito Lay. He then began his career in the hotel industry where he stayed for the past 15 years. Most recently he was a team member at JW Marriott in Nashville where he was loved by everyone who he came in contact with. He never met a stranger, and his colorful wardrobe outside of work, matched his personality.
Joel was a larger than life personality whose quick wit and laughter would change the tone with his surroundings. He was always known to wear the most outlandish hats to celebrate the holidays in "Joel" fashion. Joel was an outgoing person who was always on the go. He loved music and sports venues, and attended as many as possible. If there were four in one day that he wanted to see, he made sure he did all four. His connections seemed to be so great around town, he would buy the cheapest ticket and wind up being front row center at any event he attended.
Joel lived his life, never squandering his day. He loved going to the Nashville Sounds games and always ran into "Booster" the team Mascot. Joel, had a love for plants and loved to garden, he wanted a larger than life yard, so he planted a sequoia tree in his yard and two banana trees. He was once featured on Fox-17 for flying his kite.
Joel loved his family, he felt it important to make them his center of attention. He loved his nieces and nephews. Tender family moments can always be reflected on the beach.
