Joe was born to William and Jamie Roberts on the 16th of July 1947 in Covington, Tennessee.
He went on to serve in the Army from June 1967 through June 1969 as a Rifleman, where he was awarded
the National Defense Service Medal.
He had many hobbies and passions. Fishing, cruising, and Tennessee football were particularly close to his heart as he could share these with his family. His truest delight was being a Papa.
Joe was a kind hearted man who would do anything he could to help those he was close to. He was giving and loving, and had a great sense of humor. One of his best qualities was his ability to always see the bright side.
As a longtime member of AA, Joe was proud of the sobriety he had worked so hard for.
He entered into eternal peace in his sleep on the 10th of April 2022. Joe was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Jean Cothran Roberts. He is survived by his sister, Elaine Gay; as well as his sons, Joseph, Samuel, and Malcolm Roberts; and his seven grandchildren.
