

Larry Eugene Slayden, 66 of Nashville August 21, 2013. We have lost our fun brother and uncle. He was preceded in death by his wife Arlene Warda Slayden of Boston, his mother Ruby Street Slayden and his father Wesley Wade Slayden, both of Nashville and his sister Barbara Bishop of Nashville. He is survived by brothers Wesley B. Slayden (Rita) of White Bluff and Thomas L. Slayden (Gina) of Kingston Springs, aunt Shirley Pruitt (Charlie), cousin and pal Johnnie Street and many adoring nieces and nephews. Larry served in the army after graduating from the University of South Florida. He was employed as an engineer and worked on the "big dig" in Boston where he met his wife. In 2003 he returned to Nashville where he worked for Metro Public Works retiring last summer. He had so many interests; a few of them were: antiquing, glass collecting and painting, and fishing. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. Visitation will be held from four until eight o’clock in the evening on Friday, the 23rd of August, 2013 at Woodlawn Roesch-Patton Funeral Home. A Graveside Service will be held at two o’clock in the afternoon on Saturday, the 24th of August at Woodlawn Memorial Park.
