Mr. Bailey was born in Ruffin, NC, on August 16, 1931, the son of the late Charlie Ellis Bailey and Lucy Cox Bailey. He served in the United States Army and retired from Avco after many years of service. In addition to his parents, Mr. Bailey was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Jean Paris Bailey and a son, Mark Steven Bailey.
Survivors include his daughter, Donna Bailey; two grandchildren, Mark (Mary Leigh) Pirtle and Kimberly (Micheal) Jackson; three great-grandchildren, Logan Jackson, Hayven Jackson, and Hayes Pirtle; and four sisters, Minnie Sue (Robert) Peake, Shirley Carroll, Mae Bailey, and Brenda (Jerry) Meeks.
A Celebration of Life will be held Tuesday, July 4, 2017, at ten o’clock in the morning, Woodlawn’s Dignity Hall with Dr. Lenny Farmer. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park with military honors.
Gathering of Family & Friends will be held Monday from four o’clock until eight o’clock at Woodlawn Roesch-Patton Funeral Home.
