

Preceded in death by his son, Mark Marchetti, and parents, Annie Corrieri Marchetti and Gino Marchetti. Survived by wife of 65 years, Betty Miles Marchetti, children Louis Gino Marchetti, Jr. (Jeanne); Tony Marchetti (Lynn); Kevin Marchetti (Mary); Andrea Schaeffer (Tom); Michael Marchetti (Teresa); Vicky Marchetti, Chris Marchetti (Gina); Mary Marchetti; brother John Marchetti (Linda); 16 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
Gino was a lifelong Nashville resident serving as Loadmaster in the Tennessee Air National Guard for 37 years. After retirement from the military, he served with the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office and for the last 15 years as Special Courier and Activities Director for the law firm of Taylor, Pigue, Marchetti & Blair, PLLC.
Gino was a lover of life, family and friends and especially enjoyed attending his grandchildren’s sporting events. His infectious personality endeared all he came in contact with. He particularly loved telling stories and never hesitated to let you know his opinion. He always put everyone else before himself; never hesitated to do the right thing no matter what the consequences and was a true hero.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers include Dr. Angelo Canonico and staff at St. Thomas Medical Group, Dr. Mark Wigger, Connie Lewis and staff at Vanderbilt Heart, Dr. David Thompson at St. Thomas Heart, Dr. Lester Porter and staff at Tennessee Oncology, Dr. Robert Graham and Father Ryan Golden Grads Breakfast Club.
Visitation will be at The Fleming Center at Cathedral of the Incarnation from 2:00 to 5:00 on Sunday and Mass of the Resurrection at Cathedral of the Incarnation at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, August 3rd.
Donations can be made to Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Father Ryan High School, St. Cecilia Academy.
