

Lucille Glenn Owen (Lucy) of Nashville, 80, a devoted mother, grandmother and friend to many, passed away November 3, 2024 at a health facility in Dixon, TN. Lucy was born on October 29, 1944 to Jean J Gill and Ivo B Glenn in Nashville, Tennessee.
She was raised in Kentucky and after graduating from Russellville High School, she returned to Nashville to study at Vanderbilt University. She had two children, Jean Johnson Owen and Homer Lee Owen III. Lucy was a successful Nashville businesswoman. She was the owner of the Pappagallo Shop on Bandywood Drive and then went on to a career with Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance. She was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta sorority, the Junior League, and a charter member of the Nashville Women’s Breakfast Club. Lucy had a warm and bubbly personality and was a joy to be around. She was never shy about making new friends and maintained a close group of friends from her earliest days to her last. Music was a lifelong joy and she loved playing the piano with her family. She often read in her spare time and was an avid golfer in her younger years. She was incredibly proud of her granddaughter Elizabeth Vaughn Owen of Lexington, Kentucky. Lucy was predeceased by her parents.
She is survived by her children Jeanie Owen of Nashville, Lee Owen of Lexington, Kentucky and her granddaughter, Elizabeth Owen of Lexington, Kentucky.
There will be a graveside service at 2pm, Thursday, November 7, 2024 at Mt. Olivet cemetery in Nashville.
