Age 83, passed away peacefully February 5, 2019 and moved into her new, heavenly home. Born and raised in Sedalia, MO and other small towns in MO, but spent all her adult life in Nashville. A long-time and faithful member of Nashville First Baptist Church and the adult choir. Retired after 30+ years as receptionist for Bass, Berry & Sims after working nearly 10 years at the Baptist Book Store. Had a “golden” alto voice, loved family and church gatherings, traveling all around the U.S. and in Europe with Margie & Mary, and baking cookies (especially for Mr. Bass and other friends/family on special occasions).
Preceded in death by parents Brooksie & Gladys Bradley; sisters Joyce Ward (Tommy) and Betty Swift (Ken), brother Martin Bradley (Ruth) and brother-in-law Gene Clinedinst. Survived by sisters Patsy Brethen (Ron) and Linda Clinedinst; thirteen nephews/nieces: Darrell Ward, Diane (Ward) North, Doug Ward, Martia (Bradley) DeMore, Kerry Bradley, Russell Bradley, Shelly Swift, Kelly (Swift) Whitney, Mark Brethen, Ronna (Brethen) McCord, Greg Brethen, Vicki (Clinedinst) Martin and Carol Clinedinst; twenty-five grand-nephews/nieces; and a growing list of great-grand nephews/nieces.
We will surely miss her sweet spirit, smile and wit, sharing family meals, holidays and special occasions, laughing, singing and playing dominoes and other board games together, enjoying some of her delicious, oatmeal cookies and other baked delights and hearing some of her Midwestern/Southern sayings (including the infamous, “Lordy Pete”).
A memorial service will be held at Woodlawn Funeral Home, Nashville Saturday, February 9 2:30pm with visitation starting at 1:30. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts can be made to Nashville First Baptist Church for Missions or Music Ministry.
