Mary Ann (Getz) Clinard, age 91, passed away peacefully on January 26, 2026. She was born on February 16, 1934, in Nashville, Tennessee, the youngest of seven children, to the late Hubert and Anna Fuetsch Getz.
Mary Ann experienced a childhood shaped by resilience and love. After the passing of her mother when Mary Ann was just two years old, she lived at St. Mary’s Orphanage until her father remarried several years later. She fondly recalled that she was “all of the nuns’ baby” and spoke often of how deeply loved and cared for she was during that time. As a young girl, she enjoyed playing softball and loved to dance, performing with the orphanage group at the Belle Meade Theater—memories she cherished throughout her life.
On December 14, 1957, Mary Ann married the love of her life, Billy Bruce Clinard, who preceded her in death. Together they built a home filled with care, devotion, and unwavering support for one another and their family.
Mary Ann was the proud and loving mother of Deborah Barnes (preceded in death), Billy Bruce Clinard Jr. (Kathy), Ricky Lee Clinard, and Randall Eugene Clinard (Pamela). She was a devoted grandmother to James Michael Hankins; Timothy Hankins (preceded in death); Tabitha Meuller (David); Cristy Clinard; Tara Newcomb (Kevin); and Lee Clinard.
Known for her immaculate housekeeping and exceptional cooking, Mary Ann took great pride in caring for her home and family. She lovingly devoted herself to her husband, children, and anyone fortunate enough to be part of her life. Her kind heart, generous nature, and loving spirit left a lasting impression on all who knew her.
In her later years, Mary Ann found joy in going to yard sales, playing cards, and taking memorable trips to Las Vegas with her sister, where she loved to gamble and laugh. These moments brought her great happiness and reflected her enduring zest for life.
Mary Ann Clinard will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered for her strength, warmth, and unwavering love for her family and friends. Her legacy lives on in the many lives she touched.
