DUNCAN, Mary Ella, age 89 of Donelson went peacefully home to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on February 2, 2011. She is preceded in death by her high school sweetheart and husband of 59 years, Allen B. Duncan; daughter, Linda Hurt; son-in-law, William “Buddy” Hurt; and 8 siblings. Ms. Duncan is survived by her daughter Barbara (Delson) Smith; sisters, Norma Midgett and Jean Nelson; grandchildren, Rhonda (John) Okken, Sharon (Kevin) Withrow, Jason Smith, Susan (Greg) McRay, Travis (Marsha) Smith and 8 great-grandchildren; special niece, Martha Duncan. Ms. Duncan was a member of First Baptist Church of Donelson for 60 years. She served faithfully in the bus ministry and the baby nursery. The Duncan family would like to send sincere thanks and love to the entire staff at Mt. Juliet Health Care and Avalon Hospice. The Funeral service will be today at 2:30pm in Woodlawn’s Dignity Hall with Minister Jack Barron officiating.
