

Mary Wayne Mader passed away on November 25th, 2025, at the age of 97. She was born on March 26, 1928, to the late Harold Wayne Hammond and Norma York Hammond. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Charles L. Mader Jr., her sisters, Norma Harmon and Corinne Evans, and niece, Diane Evans.
She is survived by her son, Charles L. Mader, III., (Chuck), daughter-in-law, Trudy Mader, and grandson, William York Mader (Will), niece, Georganne Harmon and three nephews, Paul Harmon, George Evans and Brian Evans, several loving great nieces and nephews.
She was educated at West End High School and Ward Belmont College and had a lifelong interest in art, books, and music. She always had a love for animals, especially dogs, cats, rabbits and birds. She was a former member of the Valley Green Garden Club and Life member and former president of the Fannie Battle Day home for Children, and she was a long-time member of Belmont United Methodist Church.
Mary was the owner of the backdoor art and craft store in Green Hills, doing business for 10 years. She enjoyed operating the business and helping customers, but her greatest pleasure was being a wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker.
