Maurine (Crim) Simpson was born December 14, 1923 in Warren County, Tennessee. She was the oldest child of Charlie Crim and Bobbie Barrett. After high school she moved to Nashville where she completed a secretarial course and became a bookkeeper at Third National Bank.
It was at the bank where she met her husband Horace L. Simpson, Jr., who died in 1987.
Maurine and Horace married in 1949 and had three children.
Maurine enjoyed gardening, reading, bird watching, travel, and Lady Vols basketball. She was an active volunteer throughout her life. Her last volunteer position was with Fifty Forward where she was involved for 28 years.
She is survived by her three children: Virginia (William) Davis of Murfreesboro, Lester (Glennda) Simpson of Franklin, and Livy Simpson of Nashville. She also has four grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
