Born in Athens, AL on August 13th, 1948, and raised in Donelson, TN. Dwight was preceded in death by parents, James Calvin & Ruth Powers.
Survived by his wife Margaret Powers; daughters, Kelly Gregory; Buffy Escue (David Wolfenbarger); grandchildren, Grace Gregory; Morgan Escue, and Max Escue; sister, Debra Powers; brother, Donnie (Debbie) Powers and a host of family and friends.
Dwight served in the Marines during the Vietnam War, worked for General Electric, then became a carpenter, taking pride in all that he built, restored, and made beautiful for his clients. He loved his family and friends fiercely. He was a gentle giant that wanted nothing more than to see those around him happy. He will be missed by many but the memories that live within us bring the promise of a smile.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date to be announced by the family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Alive Hospice.
