On July 11, 2021 our mother Meral Kathleen “Kathy” Loy, passed away into God’s graces after a lengthy illness. Kathy was born to Estel and Hazel Uhls Craft on May 6, 1940 in Franklin, Kentucky. A warrior throughout life, she was 81 years old. She was a fierce woman in every way imaginable: strong, independent, opinionated, loving, kindhearted, hard-working who battled cancer for 13 years. She did not go gentle into that good night (Dylan Thomas) as she wanted to live every moment available to her.
She is survived by her sister, Linda, her brother, Stevan, her children, Tim, Tony (Sherry), Cheryl, and Melissa (Dale), and her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents, Estle and Hazel Craft and her brother Michael.
Mother requested a cremation and that we scatter her ashes on a beautiful body of water in a private ceremony. She would not approve of a full obituary being written, but we would like to state that she is survived by many, many loving friends and family.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to The Samaritan Center in Ooltewah, TN, a nonprofit organization mother was passionate about.
Throughout her entire life, she held an unwavering faith in God, which she shared with those who surrounded her.
