Mildred Beatrice Northern Humbrecht, age 91 passed away peacefully with her family by her side on August 27, 2019 in Dickson Tennessee. She is preceded in death by her husband, Tommy Humbrecht, brothers, Tom Northern and William Jones. She is survived by her children Msgr. T. Allen Humbrecht and daughter Elizabeth “Libby” Clifton (Wilson), grandson Mason Clifton, brother, Joe Jones, numerous nieces and nephews.
Mickey a nickname given to her by her siblings attended Holy Name Catholic School and later attended Cathedral High School. During high school she worked at Harvey’s Department Store and the Green Lantern Inn Restaurant until it’s closure during war time. After graduation Mickey entered St. Cecilia Convent in August 1946. After becoming a nun she was known as Sister Dorothy and taught at various schools in Nashville, Memphis, Jackson and Virginia. Due to illness Mickey left the convent and went to work at Fireman’s Fund Insurance Company. In 1961 Mickey met Tommy Humbrecht they were married in 1963 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Madison, and became stepmother to Al Humbrecht. In 1967 Tommy and Mickey adopted Libby at age six weeks through the Catholic Charities.
A devout catholic Mickey loved her church, gardening, cooking, sewing, knitting and spending time with her family especially her grandson Mason.
Visitation with the family will be on Monday from 5-7 PM at Marshall-Donnelly-Combs Funeral Home with a Rosary at 7 PM. Visitation will also be held on Tuesday from 10-11 AM at Holy Name Catholic Church with funeral mass to follow at 11 AM. Interment to follow at Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Cecilia Mother House or a charity of your choice.
